You cannot use it in that way, you can query a Muster job through mrtool, notepad isn’t an existing “template”. If you want to run an arbitrary remote process, you need to setup a template that spawns your custom executable, and then schedule a job of that kind.

Check if you get any kind of log generated after the host switches to “Render in progress…” status. About the window being closed immediately, this may happen if you do not stop a previously installed render client service.

not actually, it handles only single jobs operations… We are going to release the SDK and a Python client lib with Muster 7 so this will be handled better in the near future..

If you use the builtin Muster maya-layer template, it will render the layers depending on the render engine you selected…

    Hi Dan,

A new update to the Java runtime caused this issue, you need to downgrade the Java runtime or wait for a fix we are working on but this is on low priority at the moment !

Check that the template you’re using (maya sw/maya mr … ) is actually supported by the WIndows node, otherwise try to configure it manually (right click on a node->configure->templates)….

Tim sorry but it’s not clear what you want to do exactly ;) could you get in touch with me on vvsupport@vvertex.com so we can discuss that deeply ?

Tim we already have in the TODO list, warnings and errors overrides on a job basis, should come out on 6.1.0 or later!

    Hi Sebastian,

The muster files called “muster” or “muster.db” and “muster_history” or “muster_history.db” and sqlite based database. You can open them using the sqlite command line or whatever wrapper you like.

no , a single packet may support multiple render filenames, also Muster does not know the name of the final image consider it may be changed from the settings of your scene. But if you use strict naming rules, you can get the maya filename, the project path, and derive the final image name from that inside your script.

I mean if your file is called myverynicejob.mb and your files are stored always as myverynicejob.# , you can easily derive the final frame name…

not actually, we’ll provide a tested template for vray in the near future, unless you want to write it on your own!

Not actually, you need to use mrtool. We have the libMusterClient.lib in the todo list, with also python bindings, then you can connect through c++ or python once, and submit a large amount of jobs.

If you get in touch with us directly, I may provide the protocol details and/or the sources of mrtool for tweaking
