Even this seems out of topic is this forum, I had a similar problem with an host running Windows Vista. Unfortunately, the only solution for me was to format everything. :(

You can safely run both OS, Muster is compatible.

When you configure an host, the rc.conf file is rewritten. You should change the file’s write permissions.

    Cheers!

Templates are synchronized with the Dispatcher each time you connect to it. If there’s a difference between the Dispatcher and the Console, they are streamed and updated. If you run the console as a regular user, the standard directory permissions of the templates folder do not let you update the files.
Solution 1) Change the directory permission and give full control to anyone
Solution 2) Just stay with the warnings. Even you get an alert, templates are parsed in memory using the latest version.

Well, depends on the version of Muster 5 you were using. Dependancies from some .DLL in the installation directory have been add since several months and this fix , i.e. is required even with 5.5.8.

Each renderclient can have a “setup” password that’s specified inside the renderclient.conf. Try to remove completely the client configuration file manually, restart the service and reconfigure it.

    Hi Tom,

Not happening here, I’ve also tried with and without a password. Have you tried to setup a password for the admin account ? Maybe the “” are disturbing. Also, when the password is blank, the -p should be avoided at all, we are going to change that in the .mel in the near future, but in the meanwhile you may try this fix.

I confirm that both Muster 5.X and Muster 6.X are compatible with Windows7. Try to launch Muster as a console application and watch the results. If it works, maybe you need to setup something on the account assigned to Muster…

I need a more detailed description. Does the renders starts ? Does a red cross appears in the exclusion list ? What happens in the Dispatcher log ?

Multiple instances doubles (or 3x 4x..depending ont he number of instances) the RAM usage so you should play with it just if you’re sure your RAM is enough.

Multiframe processing in Afx is enabled by the AFX preferences. You should log into AFX with the Muster user and store the preferences.
The batch render will load them at the next invokation…
