22nd November 2010 at 9:51 pm #15161Okay, well I think I figured out the issue, I’m just not sure how to solve it. The Windows 7 machine can’t find the Maya exectuable and every time I try to “rescan Local applications” the service freezes up on me. Does anyone know how to manually add Executables?
Thanks.

19th November 2010 at 9:57 pm #15158Well Dan,
I am currently working the 32-64 environment fine. However when I had the dispatcher node configured on the windows xp 32-bit side it would not allow the Windows 7 64-bit machine to show up. But when I reconfigured the installations and set the Dispatcher on the 64-bit side, it allowed the 32-bit side to render out. What’s strange is the render farm has not utilized the 64 bit machine while rendering, even though it is showing green and ready to render. It just sits there idle, and that’s the only issue I’m having as of right now — is utilizing that machine also as a render client, while it’s configured for the dispatcher service.
Hope this helps.

19th November 2010 at 12:45 pm #15156Sorry, didn’t realize that the file naming structure was set to single frame name.ext in Render settings and Muster was overriding that to name.ext.# is it was rendering multiple frames. Now I know, it’s determined by the render settings of the project. Hope this helps future users. Thanks guys.
19th November 2010 at 12:20 pm #15155Something just occurred to me and I switched the intstallations around again. Can the 32-bit side of Muster run and detect 64-bit render clients and utilize them for the render farm? If anyone can claim or deny this that would be great. Thanks.
19th November 2010 at 7:14 am #15153It does. It just sits there not really accomplishing anything. When I right click on the little green orb next the machine it doesn’t give me any options to utilize the machine. Unlike the xp side where it allows disabling/enabling.
19th November 2010 at 7:12 am #15152Very cool Dan, do I have to reinstall everything to use the service mode?
18th November 2010 at 11:35 pm #15149Thanks Dan I appreciate your help. I did finally get it working.
