…okay, for anyone else who tries this later…
The error seems to relate to network permissions.

    Good luck!

Now we are getting the following error:
“Exit code 9 differs from expected code 0”

This is a comp with no footage. It’s just a solid moving across the screen.

Do you have any success stories involving AE and Muster?
    Does it actually work?
    What have we paid for?
    Support please!!!!

    Cheers.
    Doing that now…

    Hi Dan,
I hope this isn’t too late for you. (This does not seem to be a very active forum).
In 3DS MAX you have to make sure that all your map files and your output path are referenced over the network to a share that’s common to all your computers. This is the same as with backburner.
(I’m not sure, but I think it might be important to deselect “net render” in the render panel, as that will invoke backburner)

Then, you close MAX and submit your job via the muster web interface.

    It’s pretty straightforward.

    Good luck!

Why do you have to submit a comp name?
Does Muster ignore the AE render queue?

Gonna bump this thread, because it’s a good question and noone answered it.
Don’t tell me I have to go back to the watch folder system…

I would like to second that request.
I’ve searched the manual and the web, all I can get is some very dense documents about JDL, and nothing specific about muster.

Um, so now that we’ve bought and installed it, how is it done? What do you mean by “easily”? Can you provide any support for me in writing the custom template?

I’ve just gone through the manual, and there doesn’t seem to be much about custom templates.

    Cool, I’ll try that.
    Thanks!
