I am a new Muster user and I was wondering why does the render times, when deploying the processes to the farm PCs , would be slower than when “test” rendering the same amount of frames on a “single” PC. All of the PCs on the farm have the same processing speed including the one I sued to test.
When you use a distributed batch render, you cannot compare it with the time of a local batch render inside Maya. Each time you render a packet, you need to add the time to launch Maya, load the scene and prepare the render. When rendering fast frames, you should increase the packet size to send a bigger amount of frames to the same host and reduce those “warmup” times,
