I would like to purchase three single licenses for a small render farm, but in testing the software, I am unable to render a Maya scene file. The file is queued, but will not start. Here are the exact specs of what I am trying to do.

    • Muster 5

    • Render was set up as ‘Maya to MR’

    • Scene file included a Polygon sphere on polygon plane

    • Mental Ray renderer was selected in Maya’s render globals.

    • Three Intel Core 2 Duo Vista machines, each with a copy of Maya 2008 Unlimited

    • All machines were recognized by Muster Explorer, and the Maya job details show up on each machine

    • No external textures

    • Scene file was recognized, the correct path to the file was being used, on a NAS networked drive shared by all three machines

    • Muster was run using the application process on each machine rather than windows services

Please let me know if there’s anything that can be done, or a step that I am missing. I am very anxious to purchase the software as the interface is intuitive, and the software package is getting great reviews.

Which pool are you submitting to?

Also, confirm that the machines have the template “Maya-mr” configured.
If there are no machines with this template configured in your farm, the job will appear On Queue until such a machine is available.
