    I was trying to configure mysql for muster, i am using Muster 6.13.x64 (Windows XP 64bit) and i have entered the value for mysql while installing. after suspenseful installation i am not able to start “Muster Dispatcher Service 6” it says “The Muster Dispatcher Service 6 service on local computer started and then stopped. some service stopped automatically if they have no work to do, for example the performance logs and alert service.”
    In dispatcher activity log it says ” connection with database engine (mysql) on 127.0.0.1 failed. startup aborted!. i have checked the mysql connectivity using telnet 127.0.0.1 3306 and it is connecting properly. what could be the problem anyone can advice?

    Check you’re not running any firewall between the service and the database. Also check that you do not have any kind of user based authentication, remember that Muster runs under a dedicated user account.

    I’m having the same issue on Linux:

    07/06/2011 12:12:02 – [Core] Attempting database connection(mysql) on lab-muster-01.example.com (muster)
    07/06/2011 12:12:02 – [Core] Connection with database engine (mysql) on lab-muster-01.example.com failed. Startup aborted!

    I can’t find any documentation regarding the correct setup for mysql so I assume the dispatcher should create it’s own databases and tables. I have verified that there are no firewalls or other network level problems. Please help me troubleshoot this issue as it has halted my project evaluation.
