Is the ‘Starting Folder’ necessary for Lightwave

    Hi

I am just trying Muster out at the moment. I was wondering if (and why) you have to include a ‘Starting Folder’ in the Lightwave template inside the render client configuration? I presume this ‘Starting Folder’ needs to be the same as the Content Directory for the Lightwave project. (At least that is how I have it working at the moment).

Is it really necessary to have the ‘Starting Folder’? Particularly given that you have to include a path to the Content Directory whenever you submit a Lightwave render job. I use a lot of different Content Directories when I work. Including them in a render job submission is fine, but having to change the render client configurations each time seems like a real pain.

I have since found that the Starting Folder in the Lightwave template, simply tells Muster what file to first browse to when you are about to submit a job. It has no direct effect on the Lightwave Content Directory that you choose when you submit a Lightwave render job.

So yes, you can use different content directories when submitting Lightwave renders without having to touch the render client configurations.

The starting folder of the render client configuration is different from the content directory. The starting folder is just related to the launch of the lwsn.exe . You tell Windows where to start the launch from (like you cd to that folder using a command prompt).

    Regards.
