Okay, so I have posted a few times here and I appreciate the feedback. I have muster working with the render nodes, there is just one catch.

Here is the setup, Muster runs on a PC and the render nodes are OSX 10.5.7.

The main need it for the render nodes to handle Mental Ray.

I was choosing “mr – single file” as the engine and point to the project directory, click “submit” and getting hte following error:
error 211010: failed to create 128-byte stub image images/prestige_close.009.tga: No such file or directory
IMG 0.2 error 101003: images/example.001.tga: can’t create file (No such file or directory)
IMG 0.2 fatal: file error, exiting.
IMG 0.2 fatal: file error, exiting.
    Rendering complete.

[MUSTER]Process terminated with the following exit code: 0

So, I created a folder on the render nodes in the root called /images and the .tga files all output there. Each chunk on each render node in it’s own images folder. I don’t know how to get them all to output back to the server.

There is no option when choosing the “mr – single file” engine to select an output directory for images. I suspect it is a problem with the cross platform config we have (Windows and OSX), but I am hoping someone has a workaround.

Thanks in advance and I will be checking daily, so if more info is needed, let me know.

Try to change the starting path of mental ray. Depending on the configuration, images may be stored on a subfolder of the launching folder. Under windows , you may need to use a mapped drive to have it wokring.

    Cheers!
