OS X is supported on Server side and as a renderclient. There’s no GUI avaible, the only way to access a Dispatcher server from OS X is using the integrated web server.
But wow This is really getting to my head! There any explanation of how to work this thing on OS X?
I’m used to smedge where you just put the software on a few machines and hay presto!
I’m sorry i’m an artist with limited tech and all the tech guys here are on Holiday.
What and how do I install this on OS X? Or do I set up the server on a PC and then point to it on a mac using a web browser?
Do I need to set up MySQL?? That sounds insane?
I looked through the 3 PDF files on the download page but all of them talk about PC’s. and show nice pictures of Gui’s on PC.
I’m really confused.
Could someone please give me a step by step tutorial?
Running Maya on WinXP
and have an OS X G5 sitting around ready to render on. in fact I have 5 but I just want to test it on those two before we buy more license.
The OS X client / server are UNIX daaemons, they simply have to be started from the console or from an init script (we’re going to provide ’em in the near future).
Apart from that, Muster explorer for Linux/OSX porting is planned, we do not have any ETA at the moment.
Just want to inform that 5.4 is out, it includes a control applet for MAC OS X as an application bundle. It also allows install/uninstall of Muster components as Mac services.
