Why did you change the output format of the logs? in muster 4.5 the logs are named as the Job name thats running. we name our jobs the same as the file that is rendered. Just so we easly can go back and backtrack in the logs folder.
In muster 5 it´s named only after Job ID instead the que can be lost u newer know, and i have no idea what render that was in 6 months or so if i need to backtrack and find a specific version of a scene.
Old format example: “cam02_wheel_bg_02.lws_591_12.TXT”
New format example: 2.7.log what job was that?
Can u put back the old naming?
Or the ideal would be a little option under logs, so we could specify on our own what kind of output logs we get out.
%Q.C%.J%.log
(QueID.ChunkID.JobName.log)
Keep up the good work guys but please take a look at this.
What you’re talking about has sense. We were looking into changing the logs filename format to avoid log overwriting when requeuing a chunk and keep the logs of failed and/or requeued chunks. Our idea was to append a timestamp at the log itself, but considering what you’re asking for, we accept the suggestion and schedule it for the next release.
Macros actually used for templates will be available in the log filename.
This suggestion has been accepted and integrated from version 5.1
