    Hi!
We are using Muster to render Maya MR scenes.
My problem is now that I couldn’t find out how to tell Muster to use a Maya.env file which points to our custom Maya plugins and Mental Ray shaders. So we have to copy all the plugins and shaders to each renderfarm machine.

Is there any way to let Muster tell Maya to use a specific Maya.env file?

    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers

You can put the Maya.env file in the Muster user account home folder, or, you can configure the Maya template to directly change specific environmental variable in the “environment” block of the template.

Hi Can you be more specific how to do this process of changing template or what do you mean by user account Home.

I would greatly appreciate your help

Muster runs with a dedicated user account. Depending on the Muster version, this may have been created automatically or by you at the end of the installation.
The Maya.env file loaded is the one configured for that particular user account, so if it doesn’t match with your user, log with that account and configure the environment as you did for your regular account.

Alternatively, each template has a section to define environemntal variables. By configuring this section, you can avoid the Maya.env file. Check the Mental ray standalone template, you can find some environmental variables declared there.
