HOW TO DISABLE SYSTEM TRAY ICON

    I have the render client software installed in several computer labs and would like to disable the system tray (notification area) icon (or at least disable the balloon tip).

    I’ve already checked the system registry as well and the rc.conf file to see if there was any way to control this option but found nothing.

    Does anyone know how to disable this option/feature/setting?

    Just remove it from the Startup program group

    Hi Leonardo,

    I’ve actually disabled the notification area balloon tips so that the logged on user isn’t immediately notified that the services are running.

    Wouldn’t removing the program from the startup group stop the renderclient services from running?

    No, the applet is just a watcher on the services that runs independently!
