I’m having trouble configuring/setting AE job in Muster. Everything seems fine except that the job doesn’t start… Can you let me know what I need to check/fix to get this running please? Thanks!

Have you configured the paths to After effects using the management console ?

same problem here with AfterFX CS3…
the render starts, at least the 2 test render clients go to “job in progress”, then back to idle…
    error is :
Exit code 7 differs from expected code 0 (Service) SERVEUR-3D(127.0.0.1)

Gonna bump this thread, because it’s a good question and noone answered it.
Don’t tell me I have to go back to the watch folder system…

If you get an exit code of 7, locate the packet generated by After effects and drop some lines here, there’s always a reason reported by the batch render if it fails, the only way to find it is inspecting the log.

Now we are getting the following error:
“Exit code 9 differs from expected code 0”

This is a comp with no footage. It’s just a solid moving across the screen.

Do you have any success stories involving AE and Muster?
    Does it actually work?
    What have we paid for?
    Support please!!!!

…okay, for anyone else who tries this later…
The error seems to relate to network permissions.

    Good luck!

Sooo… Did you ever get it to work?

Seems more like smoke and mirrors than a working product for AE.

We are having the same problem. We set a render in Muster to use AE7 on our render farm and we get no feedback and no render.

In the AfterEffects section of the submission panel we have entered these settings

    AfterEffect Job File: Z:3_FinalRenders……aep
    Composition Name: KL_R01_610
Render Settings Template: Best Settings (Taken from AE file Render Queue)
Output Module Template: tga (Taken from AE file Render Queue)
    Output File: xxx.tga
    start frame: 1
    end frame: 300

The file is a test file with no linked images.

Can anyone help with this problem?

    George

It seems our problem was that we needed to point to the aerender.exe file in the Management Console’s AE Template area.

    Now it works fine.
