            <description><![CDATA[ Hello,<br />

my question was not raised as a search disclosed. In order to get a clou how much every frame of our production took to render my task is to sum up the rendering times. As far as I can see a job's chunk details can not be used via copy/paste. How else can I gather the rendering times per frame let's say via copy/paste into Excel? Is there a way to read out the database which is driving Muster? If so, can someone tell me how?<br />

(Sorry to repost, but I think I originally posted to the wrong list.)<br />
<br />
I'm new to Muster and need help setting it up so I can submit render layers from Maya 2008.  <br />
The steps I've read have been a bit hard to follow, particularly because I have to figure out how things work without admin rights (IT dep't within a corporation).<br />
Is there a step-by-step guide somewhere that includes a submit script and all the installation details necessary to get this to work somewhere?<br />
<br />
Specific questions: <br />
Do I need to reinstall Muster to incorporate Maya (Muster is installed currently but with no integration with Maya).<br />
Is there a Mel script/plugin available for submitting jobs?<br />
Can I submit MR .mi files using a mel submit script?<br />
<br />
(Maya 2008, Muster 5.5.8)<br />

How come there is such a big difference when I render the same Maya scene through Muster and when I render it through Maya Batch Render command? For example a frame takes 24 secs to render in Muster but only 8 secs with Batch Render (executed within Maya). I also often get unexpected exit codes in Muster and frames with geometry artifacts (like random vertices being pulled out from the model). But again, when I render the same sequence from Maya with Batch render everything renders fine AND much faster. <br />
<br />
Any ideas what might be causing this problems. Using the latest Muster 5 version (one node)  with Maya 2009. All the scene files are on the machine doing the rendering - no network activity on that part.<br />

Here is the setup, Muster runs on a PC and the render nodes are OSX 10.5.7.<br />

The main need it for the render nodes to handle Mental Ray.<br />

I was choosing &quot;mr - single file&quot; as the engine and point to the project directory, click &quot;submit&quot; and getting hte following error:<br />

So, I created a folder on the render nodes in the root called /images and the .tga files all output there.  Each chunk on each render node in it's own images folder.  I don't know how to get them all to output back to the server.<br />

There is no option when choosing the &quot;mr - single file&quot; engine to select an output directory for images.  I suspect it is a problem with the cross platform config we have (Windows and OSX), but I am hoping someone has a workaround.<br />

            <description><![CDATA[ Everything else is working fine, but when MR is chosen as the render engine, there is no output.  <br />

Muster reports that the render is complete and there are no errors, but nothing is placed in the output folder.<br />
<br />
If Maya SW or another engine is chosen, it works.  The MR client is installed on all of the render nodes.<br />

            <description><![CDATA[ I'm having a strange problem with the last animation we are rendering with Maya and Muster.<br />
When I submit the animation it starts as it should. But after some time the nodes are disapearing from the list. THe maya batch is still running on the machines, but the processor is 0% and it still uses a lot of memory. As soon as a terminate the batch local on the computer the node will appaer again in the explorer.<br />
Sometimes they are visible again and ofter some time the are gone.<br />
<br />
Bigest problem is that Muster thinks that the job is not running, and it will assign it again to another node.]]></description>

We are using Muster to render Maya MR scenes. <br />
My problem is now that I couldn't find out how to tell Muster to use a Maya.env file which points to our custom Maya plugins and Mental Ray shaders. So we have to copy all the plugins and shaders to each renderfarm machine. <br />
<br />
Is there any way to let Muster tell Maya to use a specific Maya.env file?<br />

            <description><![CDATA[ When I tried to invoke multi proc of Maya via multi instance render client, it worked well. However After Effects and 3ds max were not good. One proc of them was good, another procs caught an error. These render client ran as background service on Windows.<br />
<br />
Then, I changed the render client to foreground, ie run on login session. The issue was solved.<br />
<br />
If you know same issue in another application, please let me know.<br />
